Our experience with Renaissance Property Management has been excellent from the first time we spoke with Frederick at the office. Frederick talked us through the search and rental process. He was very patient with all of our questions and phone calls. When it came time for us to go out and look at places, Frederick showed us places that fit exactly what we were looking for. In addition, he, Paul, and Sharon have gone above and beyond fabulous customer service to make sure that our move-in day went as smoothly as possible, and that we had all the information we needed to set up our utilities and become familiar with Richmond. We moved in from several states away, and their assistance helped out quite a bit. The town home we rented was clean and in good condition when we arrived into town. They have been very attentive in answering our questions and addressing any fixes that have been needed. We are glad that we chose to use Renaissance to help us locate housing.
The property itself was decent but the management i somewhat out of touch with reality. I lived in an apartment with a rent of 755 per month, but when i left the apartment i was charged $ 650 as cleaning charges. That was deducted from my security deposit, this despite leaving the apartment in pristine condition. Please consider these scummy costs before renting anything from them.
Make absolutely sure you read the lease before you rent from this company. Especially the section about "carpet cleaning" among others. This company has absolutely no intention of returning any portion of the security deposit. Mine was $550. Upon moving out...my parents, uncle, and myself cleaned the entire apartment for about 7 hours. To be honest, we left the apartment in better condition than when I first moved in. About a month later, I get a letter in the mail from Renaissance informing me that I will not be getting any of the security deposit back and on top of that I owe them an extra $150+...but (get this) as a "courtesy" to me they are willing to forego the extra money I supposedly owe them. What a joke. The fees they charge you are ridiculous. $25 for phantom trash that wasn't there....$135 for carpet cleaning (there is no way to get around this fee, it is cleverly worded in the lease), $100+ for mini blind cleaning, $150 for burning candles. I could go on and on. Unless you just like giving away money, I would not rent from these people. They are a dishonest company.
Ride property managers. If you don't look like to have money, they're attitudes are horrifying. I will NEVER recommend these people for renting. Go to Linda Molina instead. She's amazing.
Renaissance Properties has been very good to me. I am currently attending college which is very close to where I live. I have nothing to say but wonderful things about the owner and their staff. The wide range of properties and price ranges that I had to choose from was also beneficial for me. I would not hesitate to rent from Renaissance Properties again and I would highly recommend them to everybody.
