I rented my first apartment from Terry. I was right across the street and this allowed his team to make sure I was okay. They also walked my dog when I was stuck out of town. When I wasn't home much and had concerns about my bill, Terry cut my water by over half. I didn't have to pay for internet there because I could use the office's. Terry wanted to show my apartment when i was in the process of moving but always gave plenty of notice. Overall, it was a great experience and I would rent from Harkleroad again!
Harkleroad Properties, from what I've seen and heard, is one of the best places to go in Richmond for affordable housing with a compassionate and caring staff. Any issues that I have brought to Terry's attention have been taken care of within 48 hours, even non-emergency maintenance issues. They have been extremely flexible with my leasing arrangements, and when it turned out the first property I had with them wasn't suiting my needs, they allowed me to freely transfer to another property of theirs with no problems at all. If you're looking for a compassionate, friendly, LGBTQ+ positive landlord, look no further :)
